DiveHack – Diversity competence through PBL and hackathons

Diversity Hackathon

In this event, teams of students develop innovative solutions to real-world problems faced by our regional project partners in the area of diversity.

When?

19 May 2026, 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
and
20 May 2026, 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Where?

TU Dortmund University, Campus-Treff, Vogelpothsweg 120, 44227 Dortmund

What?

Real-life problems relating to diversity issues will be addressed in a hackathon format, in which participants will work intensively on innovative solutions within 24 hours.

On the first day, the program will include the group formation and various brainstorming phases. On the second day, the solutions will be brought together to form a final concept. This allows students to improve their presentation and pitching skills and learn to work in diverse teams. The lunch break on the second day provides an opportunity to exchange ideas with other students and network with companies. The event concludes with a panel discussion, which provides an opportunity for first-hand feedback and further discussion. All students will receive a certificate of attendance and also have the chance to win prizes.
