Contributions to the GfHf Annual Conference 2026 in Paderborn

The HdHf team provided a number of contributions to the 21st Annual Conference of the German Society for Higher Education Research (GfHf), held from 18 to 20 March at Paderborn University.

The 2026 GfHf Annual Conference was dedicated to the theme “Normativity in Research and Teaching – Aspiration, Reflection, and Responsibility” and provided an excellent opportunity to present the following contributions from the Professorship:

In their paper titled “Governance of Private Universities,” Prof. Liudvika Leišytė and Anna-Lena Rose presented research findings on private universities from the BMFTR funded project ELLpH.

Prof. Liudvika Leišytė, Anja Westphal, Anna-Lena Rose, and Üfeyra Özdencanlı presented a poster pitch on the Freiraum 2025 project INTERSECT titled “Intersectionality in Higher Education”.

Panourgias Papaioannou presented his paper “The Impact of Digital Technologies on Academic Staff Appraisal: A Case Study of German Higher Education Institutions”.

Nina Bieling gave an elevator pitch titled “Evolution of third-party funding acquisition and managerial expectations in German HEIs”.

Sude Pekşen presented a paper on “Normative Models in Student Recruitment”.

Lina Tönnes participated in the HoFoNa conference for early career higher education researchers and presented a poster pitch titled “AI-Driven Transformation of Administrative Processes in Higher Education Marketing Departments”.
