Representation of Early Career Academics in HE Governance in Europe

In their international comparative article “Representation of early career academics in higher education governance: policies and practices across Europe,” Liudvika Leišytė and her co-authors examine how early career academics (ECAs) are represented in institutional decision-making at universities in nine EU countries and how inclusive in terms of gender this representation is in practice. The authors explore these aspects based on cultural and organizational theories, as well as from the perspective of New Public Management.
The analysis was conducted by the members of Working Group 2, “Decision Making and Leadership,” of the COST Action VOICES, which Prof. Leišytė co-leads.
The study’s findings, along with recommendations for higher education policy and practice regarding more inclusive representation of ECAs in higher education governance, are freely available as an open access article.
