Keynote Speech by Prof. Leišytė at the EAIR Forum 2026 Opening

As President of the EAIR (European Higher Education Society), Prof. Liudvika Leišytė gave the introductory keynote address on “Trust, Governance and Stakeholders: Beyond New Public Management in Higher Education”. She highlighted the importance of including a variety of stakeholders and especially students in building trust in higher education across Europe.
In addition to her keynote, she co-organized a panel discussion featuring her co-edited Springer Volume on University Governance, Management and the Academic Profession, chaired the best paper award committee, chaired the Future-AP international project meeting, and co-presented some of her research findings. One of the highlights was the co-authored paper presentation “Empowerment and Voice in Higher Education: Mechanisms Shaping Early Career Researchers’ Agency” based on the Academia Europaea funded project Empowering Young Scientists as Stakeholders in University Decision-making.
