Performance Management Under Surveillance Capitalism in Higher Education
In her contribution to the Research Handbook on Academic Careers and Managing Academics, Prof. Leišytė presents an overview of how digitalization is permeating performance measurement in higher education at the macro level and at the meso level, discussing how far this potentially influences academic work. She concludes that control over academic work has the potential to increase significantly with the support of the digital infrastructures which may curb professional autonomy.
