Invited by the Lithuanian Research Council (RCL), Prof. Liudvika Leišytė will give a keynote address “Between Competition and Collaboration: Teacher Training in a Changing Governance Landscape” at the 2nd EDU Forum, “Global Perspectives in Educational Research”.

The EDU Forum is a communication and dissemination event organized as part of the “Breakthrough in Educational Research” project, which was launched in 2025 by the Lithuanian Research Council (RCL). The 2nd EDU Forum “Global Perspectives in Educational Research”, will further extend the academic dialogue to an international context, encouraging reflection on the role of Lithuanian educational research in the global arena.

In her keynote address, Prof. Liudvika Leišytė will highlight how teacher education is increasingly shaped by wider changes in educational governance – and how these changes influence teacher education institutions and the balance between competition and collaboration. In conclusion, she will identify priorities for strengthening teacher training, including closer cooperation, sustained professional development and greater teacher participation in policy processes.

The 2nd EDU Forum will take place at the Research Council of Lithuania in Vilnius, bringing together researchers, policymakers, teacher educators, school leaders, teachers, and other education stakeholders from Lithuania and abroad.

Date: 11–12 November 2026
Location: Gedimino pr. 3, Vilnius, Lithuania
