Prof. Leišytė Contributed to a SAPEA Expert Workshop
At the SAPEA expert workshop on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), EDI experts from the SAPEA community explored how to implement EDI principles effectively and meaningfully to enhance SAPEA’s science-for-policy impact and and promote the further development of SAPEA’s EDI strategy.
As the Academia Europaea delegate on matters related to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), Prof. Liudvika Leišytė was invited by SAPEA (Scientific Advice for Policy by European Academies) to share her expertise at a SAPEA EDI expert workshop. SAPEA is part of the Scientific Advisory Mechanism (SAM) for the European Commission, which provides independent scientific evidence and policy recommendations to the European institutions.
At the workshop, around 20 experts discussed lessons and good practices from other science-policy organizations, explored key EDI themes in SAPEA processes, and generated actionable recommendations to inform SAPEA’s EDI strategy.
