Early Career Researchers as Stakeholders in University Decision‐Making

In their comparative article 'Early Career Researchers as Stakeholders in University Decision-Making in Europe: Comparative Perspectives', Liudvika Leišytė and her co-authors examine the role of early career researchers (ECRs) as internal stakeholders in university decision-making bodies in seven countries.
The study was conducted as part of Working Group 2 'Decision Making and Leadership' of the COST Action VOICES project and covers seven countries in Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean. The study investigates the extent to which ECRs perceive their voices to be heard.
The results of the study show that in most of the universities surveyed, the representation of ECRs in decision-making bodies at university and faculty levels is limited. In some higher education systems and lower organizational decision-making levels they can be expectant stakeholders, with their voices informally being heard.
