Artificial Intelligence Systems in Universities

In their open access article “Meta-synthesis of global cases for the adaption stages of artificial intelligence systems into university practices”, Prof. Barış Uslu and Prof. Liudvika Leišytė explore how AI could be integrated into university practices.
Based on 49 empirical case studies from different parts of the world the authors propose a three-layered framework capturing various purposes of AI usage, technical and institutional integration steps, and the components of ethical AI regulations in universities.
The study is the result of a research collaboration conducted as part of a tandem project within the Senior Fellowship Program at the College for Social Sciences and Humanities of the UA Ruhr and the study’s findings are freely available as an open access article.
