Within the scope of the symposium "Is Academic Mobility Gendered?", Prof. Leišytė will give a talk titled "Teaching and Research Activities of Internationally Mobile Academics: Evidence from Seven Countries" on 11 November.

In her talk, Prof. Liudvika Leišytė will refer to APIKS data from Argentina, Canada, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Russia and Kazakhstan. She will focus on academics who obtained their final academic degrees abroad. Prof. Leišytė will point out that academic rank differences are visible in terms of research production. Female faculty members tend to dedicate more time to teaching activities, while male faculty members tend to be more dedicated to research, suggesting the perpetuation of segregation patterns of academic work by gender.
