Presentation at the RENT Conference 2025

The conference focused on the key question of how local contexts and global challenges can be responsibly reconciled. This challenge is also evident at the interface between higher education and entrepreneurship. As a member of the conference’s Scientific Committee, Prof. Liudvika Leišytė was able to contribute her extensive knowledge in this field.
In a poster presentation, Nina Bieling presented the preliminary findings of her research on governance structures within technology-oriented startup ecosystems. Using “TechnologieZentrumDortmund” as an example, she demonstrated how public and private entities, collaborate to foster innovation, startups, and regional development. She showed that, while governance enables stability and coordination, it only has limited influence on the long-term sustainability of start-ups.
Focusing on the theme of “Responsible Entrepreneurship & Technology – Combining the Local and the Global,” the RENT 2025 conference took place at the University of Twente from 20 to 21 November 2025.
