Teaching-Research Nexus in the Lithuanian Higher Education
How are teaching and research distributed in the Lithuanian higher education system as perceived by academics? How does this distribution compare with other countries in Europe?
The authors answer these questions by exploring the nexus of teaching and research activities at universities in Lithuania and discuss the findings in comparison with representatives of different models of higher education: Germany as a representative of the Humboldtian model, Portugal as a representative of the Napoleonic model, Sweden as a representative of the Scandinavian model and Croatia and Estonia as further representatives of a post-Soviet model of higher education.
The book chapter is based on the international comparative survey "The Academic Profession in the Knowledge-Based Society" (APIKS).
