What factors contribute to the (dis-)satisfaction of Lithuanian academics and how are they related to New Public Management (NPM) inspired reforms at Lithuanian universities?

Prof. Liudvika Leišytė was invited to give a talk on ‘University management and the voice of academics in Lithuania’ at a webinar at the University of Hong Kong on 23 March 2022.

In her talk, Prof. Leišytė will present recent results from a survey that has been conducted among academics from all career levels and disciplines at ten Lithuanian public universities. The study has shown that Lithuanian academics display high levels of dissatisfaction, especially regarding their salary, career prospects, and independence in research, while perceiving high levels of managerialism at their universities at the same time.

The event is open to all and free of charge, but requires registration.
